Its true that Tesla car need less maintenance as compared to internal combustion cars (ICE) and has less wear and tear parts.

Drive Unit need oil for lubrication and cooling.

2. When to change Oil and Oil Filter?
OEM says in User/Service Manual that its lifetime. However, lot of workshop/owner found that when they checked oil condition. It was not good. So, It is highly recommended to replace after certain interval.
Some expert suggest to change every 250,000 km or 6 years whichever comes earlier. Please let us know when you replaced and how was the condition.

7.1 How to Replace Drive Unit (Gear Box) Oil
Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pump
To Avoid any damage, plug out the connector.
Remove the 2 bolts that attach the rear drive unit oil pump
Pulled out carefully drive unit pump and allow gearbox fluid to drain
Clean the contact surface

Replacing transmission oil filter for Tesla Car is same as replacing on combustion car.
7.3. Dual Motor
If your car is equipped with Dual Motor. You need to replace Oil and Filter for Front and Rear Drive Unit.
