Tesla "Fluid Leakage" Guide to Fix, Cost, Online support, Find and Book workshop

1. Introduction

There could be different fluid leakage. There are some normal and abnormal leakages.

1.1 Normal leakage

There could be small amount of water under car from Air Conditioning systems, which is normal. Normal leakage could be colorless like water. 

1.2. Abnormal leakage

Abnormal leakage could be different kind of oil leakage. Abnormal leakage could have some different color. It could be dangerous so It need to repair ASAP.

1.3 How to diagnose

1.3.1 Location

It could be possible to identify depend on location. Is it from front or rear of the car? Is it from near tire?

  • If it is near tire. It could be brake fluid leakage.
  • If it is under motor/drive unit. It could be gearbox/drive unit oil. 

1.3.2 Color

It could be possible to identify depend on color of fluid. Is it colorless or have some color. 

If it is colorless and feels like water. It could be from condensation, washer fluid. 

1.3.2 Feel

If its feel like oil. It could be from gearbox oil.

1.3.3 Service Mode

In some cases, system could be able to show alert on screen, if level of is below minimum.

2. How to Fix

2.1 Brake Fluid

It could be near tire. When brake fluid level will be low. System could show alert "Brake Fluid Low". Please do not drive car if brake fluid is low or has leakage. It could be dangerous. Please read more details about Brake Fluid in another guide. More details

2.2 Drive Unit Coolant

2.3 Drive Unit (Transmission/Differential) Oil

If it is under motor/drive unit. It could feel like oil. Please read more details about Drive Unit Service in another guide (how to fix, cost etc.) More details

2.4 Compressor

2.5 Condenser

If it is clear, feel like water and from front of the car. It could from condensation and should be normal.

2.6 Suspension (Shock Absorber) Fluid

2.7 Washer Fluid
