How to read service alerts in Service Mode

  • On the touchscreen, click Controls > Software
  • Touch and hold the large word "MODEL" for 4 seconds and then release.
  • Enter "service" as access code.
  • After clicking on Service Alerts. You can read service alerts. If there is anything wrong with car. It will show in active alerts.

3. How to Fix it

Some of alert could come because of software bugs. Some of alert could resolve after restarting the system, software update/reinstall. In some case, car might need hardware repair.

3.1 Restart System

Some of alert could resolve after restarting the touchscreen or power of the car.

Firstly, you could try with soft reset (restart touchscreen)

  • Please shift car into park.
  • Hold down both scroll buttons on the steering wheel until the touchscreen turns black.
  • Please wait approximately 30 seconds for the touchscreen to restart.

Powering Off the Car

If soft reset (restart touchscreen) have not resolved the alert/issue. You could try hard reset (Powering Off the car).  

  • Please shift car into park
  • On the touchscreen please touch Controls > Safety > Power Off
  • Please wait for at least for two minutes without interacting with the car. Please do not open the doors, touch the brake pedal, touch the touchscreen etc.
  • After 2 minutes, please press the brake pedal or open the door to wake the car (Source Tesla)

3.2 Software issue

Some of alert could be related to software issue.

Software Bug and Glitches

One of reason could be problem with software bug and glitches. Did you get this alert after updating recent software version? Firmware not updated

Hardware Issue

There could be some hardware faulty. Some of common hardware issues could be followings:

3.3 Recent Repair/Service

Did this alert pop up after recent repair/service? If yes, please let us know which repair/service was done recently. Some alerts could pop up if repair/service is not done in proper way. If system/alert has not be reset. Did you use aftermarket/used part?

This alert could come up if you have recently replaced tire/wheels, not correct TPMS Sensors etc.

3.4 TPMS Sensor

There could be issue with TPMS Sensor. Sensor could be bad/faulty.

How to check which sensor is not working?

Touchscreen > Control > Service

You could be able to see tire pressure value when was last the time. It was updated. With the help updated time, you could see which sensor is not reporting value.

3.5 Dead/Low Battery

There could be issue with Battery. There is small battery which has certain lifespan which could be dead. It might need to replace.

3.6 Module - TPMS

There could be issue with Module.

3.7 Tires/Wheels

This alert could come if you recently installed/replaced or alternatives Tires/Wheels.

3.8 Wrong TPMS Sensor

This alert could come if have installed correct TPMS Sensor.

4. How to Reset TPMS Sensors

Some of TPMS System (for example Continental) has built-in features that automatically detects a new set of wheel sensors. However for some TPMS system, it might need to reset. It could be done via the car's touchscreen.

Alert Description: The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) pairing process was started but not completed. TPMS will not be fully configured.  Potential Impact Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) will not be fully configured. 
Set condition: Fewer than 4 sensors have paired. 
Clear condition: All 4 sensors have been connected for at least 5 seconds

Models from 2012-2014 could have Baolong and model from 2014 2020 could have Continental. Baolong TPMS System does not show values on the center display. It is also possible to convert the Baolong to Continental through retrofit Kit.

There could be many reasons. Some of reasons could be did you drive car after repair? System need time to learn new values.

3. What is lifespan for TPMS Sensor?
